The PsyCorps Institute, as a subsidiary of PsyCorps International, supports our overall mission of educating local and international colleagues in trauma interventions. The PsyCorps Institute:
Provides clinical training to the Global Network
Enhancement of cultural awareness and sensitivity
Promotion of language familiarity
Integration of Collaborative Training Models (CTM’s) to enhance cross-cultural involvement (Click here for more information on CTM's)
Provides clinical training to the PsyCorps International Core Team
On-going training and supervision in Cross-Cultural Needs Assessment
Maintaining readiness for supervisory mobilization
Continuing education
Supervision of clinical and cultural issues in the delivery of psychological first aid services
Sponsors educational seminars, such as the Seattle Trauma Conference, to address international trauma issues for:
members of the nonprofit community
international relief agencies
public health
religious and educational organizations
Promotes Cross-Cultural Research
Generating and promulgating research designs for cross-cultural applications of psychological first aid paradigms
Developing culturally appropriate assessment techniques and instruments for measuring outcome and efficacy of PsyCorps’ disaster mental health services
Collating disaster mental health related research
Sponsoring the on-line PsyCorps Research Search (PRS) data base
